We're preparing our next workshop !

One of the losses brought on by Modernity in Iran is that of the water irrigation system known as the "qanat". Today, more than ever, water is becoming a pressing issue, in a country where 90% of the land is arid. Massive groundwater pumping has left many regions under strain, and forty percent of the territory risks total depletion in the next fifty years if practices don't change.  HydroCity is preparing a new workshop to bring awareness and solutions for the abandoned qanats of Yazd. The workshop, scheduled for September 2014, is at the intersection of architecture, landscape and culture, and will look at how the underground network can be revitalized to become a dynamic for the future of this ancient city.
